In 1973, the wonderful tale of Søstrene Grene began in Aarhus, Denmark. It is the story of the two elderly Grene sisters, Anna and Clara, who diligently work to create little, bright differences in the everyday.

With great passion, the sisters develop new designs within their product categories, e.g. interior design, stationary, gift wrapping, crafts, kitchen goods and toys for children. The stores receive a wealth of new products every week, and many of these items are only sold for shorter periods of time. Common to all products is an elegant and feminine expression that brings beauty to everyday life, while the prices are always kept at a reasonable level. To Anna and Clara, it is important that customers feel that they have found a bargain.

The right franchise candidate possesses:

EXPERIENCE

You are a strong candidate if you have experience in the service or retail industry. Furthermore, you must possess a deep understanding of and dedication to operating your own store, and you must set an example for your employees.

PASSION

One important characteristic of a successful independent business owner is having a strong sense of passion for everything one does. It is therefore essential that franchisees are able to identify with Søstrene Grene’s set of values and embody them in their everyday work.

RESOURCES

A solid financial foundation is required to become a Søstrene Grene franchisee. As a franchisee, among the things you must invest in are stock, store fittings and furnishings. The average cost of this investment will range from 1,500,000 to 2,000,000 Danish kroner (DKK) per store.

5. The application process – the four phases

Application & Review

  • Complete the online application process
  • Søstrene Grene will contact you after reviewing your application.
  • If the application is approved, the applicant will be invited to participate in a Skype conference.
  • If the applicant is approved after the first Skype conference, the applicant will be invited to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

Personal interview and business plan

  • The applicant is invited to our main office at: Mariane Thomsens Gade 1C, 6, DK-8000 Aarhus C, Denmark.
  • The applicant will be introduced to the set of agreements.
  • Geographic region and business plan are prepared.

Approval

  • Set of agreements signed.
  • Financing.
  • Search for locations and store premises.
  • Final selection.

04

Opening

  • Completion of lease agreement.
  • Store construction.
  • Franchisee training.
  • Store opening.
