Anna and Clara’s mood is one of joyous anticipation. Snow is falling, at least in their dreams, and Christmas is almost upon them. Delicious smells of homemade biscuits, sprigs of fir and the sight of red cheeks and noses. Christmas is something special. How wonderful that it is that time of year again.

To the sound of traditional Christmas music and with the wonderful smell of cinnamon from hot cups of tea, Anna and Clara usually start December off by decorating their home for Christmas and lighting candles for a really Christmassy feel. They often like to go on little excursions to collect and bring home natural treasures and then settle down to hours of fun making their own special Christmas decorations and papercuts.

What really gets Clara into the Christmas spirit is when Anna disappears into the kitchen on advent Sundays to bake for Christmas, and the characteristic smell of ‘klejner’ – the traditional Danish deep-fried twisted pastries – starts to fill their home. In the late afternoon, they enjoy the homemade Christmas biscuits in front of the fire with their family. “The most wonderful thing about December is that it brings people closer together,” says Anna.

For Anna and Clara, Christmas is very much about the joy of making other people happy. In December, the sisters always go out their way to make other people happy. For them, seeing other people happy is a joy.

Christmas is first and foremost the season of love, so make sure that the festive season is one of joy and ‘hygge’ with your nearest and dearest.

With our best wishes for a Happy Christmas.

Kind regards, Søstrene Grene
