The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration (DVFA) makes ongoing inspections of all food companies in Denmark. At every inspection, the company’s own-check is inspected, and it is ensured that the company complies with all legislation regarding food products.
Based on the company’s performance at the inspection, the company receives a smiley. An unhappy smiley indicates that the company received one or more remarks at the inspection, whereas a happy smiley indicates that the company has not received any remarks. After four inspections that result in no remarks, the company gets an elite-smiley.
Happy smileys and no remarks at the last four inspections over 12 months.
